T&N Racing History
Owner: Alan & Stephanie Van Strydonk
Our family started T&N Racing in the summer of 1994 when our son, “Nick,” decided he wanted to start ice oval racing. We started working at putting together what is still known today as one of the best kids’ racing teams ever. Throughout the years of Kitty Cat and 120 ice oval racing, T&N Racing has won races throughout the entire Midwest and Canada. Taking this success with Nick, we graduated into the Juniors class racing full-size sleds and continued our great winning ways. When Nick was just 16 years old, he did what only one other person, “The Late – Jim Herzig,” had ever done--that is to win four “World Championships” in one day in Eagle River, Wisconsin. To this day, this record still stands!
The next year, T&N Racing focused their racing efforts for Nick on the most premier ice oval class, the Pro Champ 440. Nick quickly became the youngest winner to ever win a final in this class’s history. Also, in 2008, our family was fortunate enough to win the USSA “Family of the Year.” This high standing award is voted on by our peers who acknowledged the commitment of our family to the sport of snowmobile ice oval racing.
Since then, Nick has been successful winning the “High Points” in the Pro Champ 440 & Pro Formula Open Class two of the last 3 years. Along with that, T&N Racing also won the 2009 Canadian Power Toboggan Championships in Beausejour, Manitoba and the 2010 and 2011 Grand Prix de Valcourt in Valcourt, Quebec.
In preparation for the 2012, T&N Racing is gearing up for another exciting season. The team, being lead by Nick’s dad, Alan, is currently fabricating and assembling a new Polaris race sled for Nick in a continued effort for success in the upcoming season. Nick will be piloting a 2012 Polaris Champ 440. We will be competing in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Canada racing in the USSA,ORA, CPTC, and the Eastern Pro Tour Series.
