Giving back to those who sacrifice for us...
During the off season, we here at T&N Racing have had an extremely busy summer. With going through the cleaning of the trailer, building new sleds and the continual work on the race shop itself it was hard to find a break without the guilt of feeling like we won’t be ready for the 2018 season. However, over the course of the summer we had a team member, and more importantly a family member embark on a journey that few have travelled. My brother Troy graduated this last spring and joined United States Navy. At the end of October he received his orders to head overseas for his deployment. My family took a vacation down to Chicago to see him graduate basic, and then again to Florida to see him and spend time doing what families do on vacation, annoy one another. It was a trip I will never forget, and the memories of a certain someone asking what “lake” the Gulf of Mexico was will forever remain as a pinnacle of laughter for us. After hearing Troy had graduated and received his orders, it hit me that my family has joined the many military families in hoping, wishing, and praying for their loved ones to return home safe. While doing the best job they can to ensure we are safe back home, and protect the liberties fought for many years ago.
With having a brother, and other close family members in, or very recently out of the armed forces, I’ve wanted to give back to the people who keep us safe. So, we contacted the guys over at FXR and 509 to see if they could help us out with some sort of gift that we could raffle off and send the donations to a veteran’s charity of some sort. What we came up with is nothing short of amazing, as they went far beyond what we expected, and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that T&N Racing will be raffling off a one of a kind, never reproduced race suit, and helmet that commemorates our service members efforts to keep us safe at the 55th Annual Eagle River World Championships on January 21st, along with a 2nd place prize of $300, and a 3rd place prize of $200.
The raffle tickets will be available at the Tomahawk VFW Post 2687 in Tomahawk, WI, Erv’s Sales and Service in Tomahawk, WI, the first TLR Cup Tour stop at Tomahawk Speedway in Tomahawk, WI, and Friday-Sunday at Eagle River. The drawing will be taking place on the Start/Finish line on Sunday at 2:45pm to start off the opening ceremonies for the World Championship race. Ticket prices will be $5.00 per ticket, or 3 for $10.00. All monies raised will be given to the Tomahawk VFW Post 2687. It is our goal to raise enough to send a veteran on an Honor Flight, with the rest of the money staying local in our community to support local veterans in need.
We want to say thank you to our great sponsors that are helping us make this a reality, and to those that will be purchasing tickets for this awesome gear to support a great cause!
